I believe Photographs become more meaningful over time

Hey there, I’m Lindsey

a portrait photographer based in Durham, North Carolina.

When I was little, I spent hours looking through boxes of photographs my grandmother had kept. Those images felt so important to me. They were tangible proof of people and moments that existed long before I was born, but were still a part of my family and who I am.

That sense of legacy is what eventually pulled me toward photography as more than a creative outlet. In college, I fell in love with the developing process while working in the darkroom, creating something with my hands that was physical and tangible. Slowing down, watching an image appear, and creating something meant to be cherished taught me that photography is as much about intention and care as it is about the final image. That approach still guides how I photograph families today.

Becoming a mother deepened this even further. I understand how quickly seasons change and how meaningful it is to look back and see your family as they truly were. I love documenting families year after year and watching children grow. Helping preserve that visual history is one of the greatest joys of my work.

The families I work with care about photographs not just for right now, but for years down the road. They want images that feel honest, candid, and full of love, without worrying about what to do or how to pose. I’ll guide you thoughtfully so your session feels easy and fun, and you can trust that the moments and tiny details that matter most are being captured.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in photography and have been working professionally for over 15 years. When I’m not photographing, you’ll find me sewing my own clothes, reading whatever book I can get my hands on, or exploring new places with my family and.anything that invites me to slow down and be present. I live in Durham with my husband Matt and our two children, Charlie and Kade.

If this resonates with you and the season your family is in, I’d love to hear from you.
